Il Pastaio (“The Pasta Maker”) has been in Beverly Hills for 23 years and has been an essential part of the Beverly Hills community ever since. Giacomino Drago is the chef of the restaurant and owns nine other restaurants throughout Beverly Hills and the surrounding LA area which include Via Alloro, Piccolo Paradiso, and Yojisan Sushi. Giacomino grew up in Galati Mamertino, a hilltop village in Sicily, and then moved to LA when he was 16 to work in his brother’s kitchen. After a few years of training with his brother, he felt confident enough to open Il Pastaio. Il Pastaio constantly has people outside waiting for a table. You will often find paparazzi outside waiting to take a picture of celebrities that frequent the restaurant like Justin Bieber.
Il Pastaio began by serving authentic and traditional pasta dishes and has grown to include innovative menu items like their pumpkin ravioli, squid ink risotto, and the traditional arrabbiatta (spicy tomato sauce). In addition to amazing food, they offer private dining experiences for both small and large groups. They also offer catering for 12 or more guests where chefs go to your home and prepare everything in your kitchen. For guests under 12, they offer party platters to go. If you are interested in going to Il Pastaio you can make reservations on their website here.
