CITY COUNCIL APPROVES TEMPORARY FULL CLOSURE OF WILSHIRE BLVD

Beverly Hills City Council approved a temporary full closure of Wilshire Blvd between Crescent Dr and Beverly Dr, and Beverly Dr at Wilshire Blvd. This was approved in order to accelerate the construction of the subway since there is reduced traffic on the road due to COVID-19. This work may continue until the City’s local emergency is cancelled or within five days of notice from the City Manager or designee. The closure will be in place 24 hours a day and work hours within the closure will be from 8 AM – 11 PM daily.

During the closure, signage and traffic control officers will direct drivers to Santa Monica (see map below). Wilshire Blvd will be open for local access only.

Metro buses on Wilshire Blvd will also be rerouted. Metro lines 20 and 720 will be rerouted to Robertson Blvd, Burton Way, and N Santa Monica Blvd (Detour Map for Metro Lines 20 and 720). Additional service advisories can be found on Metro’s website.
