Upper Crust Pizzeria began in Boston, Massachusetts back in 2001 and first opened its doors in Beverly Hills in 2016. Since then they have become a favorite amongst Beverly Hills locals and people from the surrounding cities! They have also been heavily involved in the current $15 Meal to Heal initiative to help support Cedars-Sinai hospital staff during COVID-19!
Their award winning pizzas are made of high-quality fresh ingredients. Most of the ingredients in their pizzas go from farm into the oven within 24 hours and are never canned or frozen! All of their dough is made fresh and by hand every morning.
They have over 20 specialty pizzas that include traditional pizzas like pepperoni or Hawaiian to specialty pizzas like Upper Crust Pizzeria LA owner, Shawn Shenefield’s personal favorite, the swellesley pizza! The swellesley is a spicy pizza consisting of parmigiano-reggiano, chorizo, crushed red pepper, fresh garlic & fresh basil (no shredded mozzarella). According to Shawn, the most popular menu items amongst customers are their margherita and white spinach pizzas and their spicy wings! When he was asked about his opinion on the never ending debate as to whether pineapple should go on pizza or not, he said, “It’s not for me, but customers do buy it a lot!”
Before the “safer at home” order went into place, we were set to do a My Beverly Hills event with them in April. Hopefully things go back to normal soon because we would love the opportunity to work with Upper Crust Pizzeria again!
